L270 Chocolate Zebra pleco

L270, the Chocolate Zebra, is a Hypancistrus also listed as LDA076. It reaches about 12 cm and has a brown-and-cream zebra pattern.

Its stated origin has been questioned: one database places it in the Rio Curuá-Una in Pará, as fish were exported through Itaituba on the Tapajós. Retailers often call it a Tapajós zebra.

It's mostly omnivorous and has been bred many times by several breeders. It can hybridise with L262, so keep lines apart. Keep it at 26–30 °C and pH 5.5–7.5. In a New England winter a tank in a cool room needs a reliable heater to hold that range.
