Caridina shrimp: Crystal, Taiwan Bee & Pinto
Caridina are the high end of the shrimp hobby: Crystal Red and Black grades, Taiwan Bee colours, patterned Pinto, and Tiger lines. They're less forgiving than Neocaridina, and much more striking.
Water is everything
Most Caridina from the crystal and bee group want soft, slightly acidic water: roughly pH 5.8–6.8, GH 4–6, KH 0–1. That usually means RO water remineralised for Caridina, over an active soil that buffers pH down. Hard or alkaline tap water won't hold them long term. Sulawesi species are the exception: they want warm, alkaline water.
Why buy locally bred
Caridina are easily stressed by long shipping and sudden water changes. Shrimp raised in RO-based water nearby acclimate far more easily than imports. We match our water parameters to what we tell you, so you can prepare a tank in advance.
Our higher grades are produced in small numbers and go to the waitlist first.
