Zebra pleco (L046)

The zebra pleco (Hypancistrus zebra, L046) is white with crisp black stripes, and it stays around 3 inches. It comes only from the Rio Xingu in Brazil, which no longer allows its export, so captive-bred fish are the hobby's supply.

Keep it warm (around 82–86°F), with strong flow, high oxygen, caves, and meaty foods. Clutches are small, often a dozen eggs or fewer.
