Java moss
Java moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri, also called Bogor moss) is a Southeast Asian moss and one of the most common in the hobby. It clings to rock, roots and driftwood, so it can be trained into a moss carpet or wall. In the trade the name is also used for Vesicularia dubyana, and the two are hard to tell apart.
It needs no special attention: it accepts almost any water, even slightly brackish, and most lighting. It shelters fry from hungry adults, and shrimp graze the microorganisms and detritus that collect in it. Propagate it by simply dividing a clump.
