Corydoras sterbai (Sterba's cory)
Sterba's cory comes from Bolivia and Brazil, around the Rio Guaporé, and reaches about 6.5 cm. Wild fish are now hard to find; most in the trade are farm-bred.
It's one of the easiest Corydoras to spawn: keep two males per female and trigger them with a large, cooler water change. Eggs on the glass hatch in 3–5 days. Keep it at 24–28 °C. See our guide to keeping tropical fish through a New England winter.
