Bloody Mary shrimp

Bloody Mary is a deep red Neocaridina davidi. Unlike the opaque "painted" reds, its body stays slightly translucent, giving it a glassy, jewel-like look.

It's an easy upgrade from standard cherry shrimp, with the same care and much richer colour. Keep it apart from other reds if you want to preserve the look.

Keeping Bloody Mary in New England water

Like other Neocaridina, it wants a cycled tank, GH around 6–8 and a stable pH near neutral. Soft Massachusetts town and well water often needs a remineraliser to get there: see our New England water guide or check your readings with the shrimp water checker.
