Blue Jelly is a translucent, pale-blue Neocaridina davidi selected from Red Rili. Some keep a few red spots, mostly on the rostrum, and offspring can revert to Red Rili or wild type.

One European breeder keeps Blue Jelly, Blue Rili and Red Rili together without brown offspring, though most keepers still separate colour lines. See Red Rili.

Keeping Blue Jelly shrimp in New England water

Like every Neocaridina, it needs a cycled tank, GH around 6–8 and a stable pH near neutral. Most Massachusetts tap and well water is soft, so check yours with the shrimp water checker or read our New England water guide. Pickup in Groton by arrangement, or shipped Monday to Wednesday.
