Black Tiger shrimp

The Black Tiger Orange Eye is a near-black shrimp with bright orange eyes and only faint striping. It's a separate selection from the Orange Eye Blue Tiger line.

Fancy Tigers trace back to wild Caridina mariae from southern China, imported in the early 2000s. Some sellers' "Black Fancy Tiger" is a bee × Tiger hybrid instead, so ask what you're buying.

Sources disagree on water: some keep them near neutral (pH 6.8–7.5, GH 6–8), others in soft, acidic Caridina water. Pick one and keep it stable.
