Blue Leg Poso shrimp

The Blue Leg Poso shrimp, Caridina caerulea, is found only in Lake Poso, Sulawesi. It's about an inch long, with a clear body, blue legs, nose and tail fan, and orange antennae. Two bright blue spots on the tail fan tell it apart from the similar C. ensifera.

It's listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN. It breeds more readily than most Sulawesi shrimp, which makes tank-bred stock possible.

It's the easiest Sulawesi shrimp but still a hard one: warm, alkaline water around 77–82 °F, pH 7.5–8.5, GH about 4–6 and KH 3–5. See also the Cardinal Sulawesi shrimp.
