Hinomaru Crystal Red shrimp

Reserve or join the waitlist

Hinomaru is a pattern within high-grade Crystal Red shrimp. The body is almost all white, with a single red circle on top of the back, like the Japanese flag the name comes from. The best have a round, centred, sharp-edged spot.

Related patterns include No Entry, where a white dash crosses the red spot, and Double Hinomaru, with a second red dot towards the tail. Not every offspring keeps the pattern, so Hinomaru are selected from SS-grade lines.

Care is the same as other Crystal Reds: soft, acidic water over an active soil, and small, regular water changes.
